This quest DOES count towards the Loremaster Achievement!

Dungeon Set 2 quest chain.

I started to do the D2 set quest chain, and I had to move to a zone, then back to the auction house, then back to a far away zone, back to the AH, ... My intention with this post is to help you collect all the things you need before you embark on your D2 journey.

The items you should collect before starting the quest chain

Obviously you need to collect the https://vanillawowdb.com/?itemsets&filter=ta=1 D1 set of your class, the Helm and the Chest should be the last two items on your agenda, you can complete the whole quest chain even if you dont have them (they are the last reward for your troubles), Some items can be bought from the AH (the belt, the bracer and the gauntlets).

Most probably you wont find neither the https://vanillawowdb.com/?item=20531 Scroll: Signet of Beckoning nor the https://vanillawowdb.com/?item=20432 Signet of Beckoning: Fire on AH. There are two ways to work around this problem.

• The first way (tho less likely to achieve) is to start the quest https://vanillawowdb.com/?quest=8284 The Twilight Mystery, do the follow ups (https://vanillawowdb.com/?quest=8285 The Deserter, https://vanillawowdb.com/?quest=8279 The Twilight Lexicon) and you should be able to see a new quest, https://vanillawowdb.com/?quest=8323 True Believers. This last quest is repeatable (https://vanillawowdb.com/?quest=8324 Still Believing), by handing in several pages of https://vanillawowdb.com/?item=20404 Encrypted Twilight Text you get a https://vanillawowdb.com/?item=20469 Decoded True Believer Clippings in your mail in 10-12 hours, these bags have a very-very low chance to drop the https://vanillawowdb.com/?item=20531 Scroll: Create Signet of Beckoning.
• The other way is to collect 3 sets of the https://vanillawowdb.com/?itemset=492 Twilight Trappings Set, summon a Templar at the Lesser Windstones and collect 3 https://vanillawowdb.com/?item=20513 Abyssal Crests, Hand them in with a Large Brilliant Shard for the quest https://vanillawowdb.com/?quest=8332 Dukes of the Council. Collect a 4th set of the Twilight Trappings, and summon a Duke at a Windstone. You will have 25% chance that the Duke you will summon is the one you need.

4. She will offer you the repeatable quest ""https://vanillawowdb.com/?quest=8333 Medallion of Station"". Combine the 3 https://vanillawowdb.com/?item=20513 Abyssal Crests with 1 https://vanillawowdb.com/?item=14344 large brilliant shard to receive the https://vanillawowdb.com/?item=20422 Twilight Cultist Medallion of Station.
5. Wearing the medallion with your fourth set of trappings, summon a duke from a regular Wind Stone.
6. Unless you have the https://vanillawowdb.com/?item=20432 Signet of Beckoning: Fire (see below), PRAY. You have a 25% chance of summoning the https://vanillawowdb.com/?npc=15206 The Duke of Cynders.
7. Repeat steps 1-4 if no https://vanillawowdb.com/?npc=15206 The Duke of Cynders spawns. (Yes that is correct, what your thinking is true, you do the first 4 steps indefinitely/repeatedly until you get the https://vanillawowdb.com/?npc=15206 The Duke of Cynders to spawn.... Grrrr)

OR YOU CAN DO THIS (But not recommended however it is a viable option)

Kill the hound/dog/mutt, and then proceed to exit the room but dont fully leave. As you turn around and face the room as if your walking in on the left side of the wall on the ground is some BONES with red meat on it. Sort of in front of the bones on the ground is where you place the brazier.
NOTICE: THE https://vanillawowdb.com/?item=22056 Brazier of Beckoning IS VERY VERY PICKY. Keep trying.
Use your amulet on his corpse. A beam will channel onto his corpse, and his spirit will appear. You get the quest from him to return to https://vanillawowdb.com/?npc=16033 Bodley. After you accepted the quest from his spirit though, my toon still remained there channeling the beam from the amulet, and would not stop channeling. My toon could still move however, so I moved my toon out of the room, and once I broke LOS of the corpse, the channeling stopped.
This boss will NOT drop like a brick some level 80s are used to. His health is low, but he has some serious resist, armor, defense or what not that myself (shadow priest) icc 10 heroic/25ICC gear, and a rogue with Heroic icc 25 gear got pooned on this boss (rogue was mutilate at the time). Rogue went combat and I went holy and had a mage in ICC 25 gear come the second time and fixed this issue on 2nd go round. For some reason the first attempt the rogue was controlled by the boss and killed me with some spell casting done on me. I was unable to move/cast in anyway. To secure this fight I suggest 3 people. They dont need to be OP, or even level 80. Just need numbers. The boss link above post can explain the bosses strat but that was back in the past, now it can be overpowered easily.
